This past weekend on November 5th, 2016 my great niece Ashlie turned 21! Happy Birthday to my SweetiePumpkin! Aunty loves you! Also on October 5th, 2016 I published my first children's book on Amazon Kindle! Whooo Hoooo...clink the glasses! How do these two events garner celebrating milestones? I'm glad you asked!
Nineteen years ago I wrote this song for my great-niece Ashlie, who was 2 years old, as we hung out at Kenneth Hahn Park in Los Angeles, CA. This park is beautiful, has streams and rocks and trees and green fields. It truly is lovely! Ashlie and I would sit on the side of the stream and take off our shoes and socks and place our feet on the rocks and let the water run over our toes and sing to the Lord. That is where the lyrics came from. This song, which is now a book, was originally titled, "Ashlie's Song." I wrote the first two verses with Ashlie. Where the song would end, "God made you and me," was originally ended with, "God made Ashlie." With the birth of her two children I added additional verses to the song as I sung each one to sleep.
So, I want to take this time to wish Ashlie Happy 21st Birthday! This is a huge milestone birthday; and it is also because of this amazing life that I wrote a song, which has now become my very first children's book titled, "God Made... A Photographic Song Of Creation."
May God continue to bless your precious life.... Aunty-Mama love you Ashlie!
